- Western Uganda Primates & Wildlife Safari
Walk with Chimps. Meet Gorillas. Explore the Wild.
Overview
Uganda is often called the Pearl of Africa, and nowhere is that more true than in the western highlands. On this safari, you’ll journey through forests alive with primates, savannahs filled with big game, and lakes that sparkle under the African sun.
Start in Kibale Forest, home to the largest population of chimpanzees in East Africa. Walking the forest trails, you’ll hear rustling above before spotting a chimp dropping gracefully from the trees. It’s a moment that grabs you and doesn’t let go.
Next, head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Africa’s most diverse ecosystems. Here, elephants march along the Kazinga Channel, hippos wallow in the water, and the famous tree-climbing lions lounge above your head. Every game drive is different, every sighting unforgettable.
The journey ends in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where the highlight awaits: gorilla trekking. Climbing through tangled vines and thick forest, you’ll suddenly come face-to-face with a mountain gorilla family. Their eyes, their presence, their quiet power it’s a meeting you’ll carry with you forever.
This safari isn’t rushed. It’s a carefully crafted journey that balances adventure with comfort, wildlife with culture, and moments of thrill with moments of peace. Western Uganda will leave you inspired, grateful, and already planning your return.
